Travel sleeper class in South India

Shoe-string Budget Travel: Tip 1. Travel Economy Class This one is a no brainer. Travelling economy class in airlines is a simple solution. But on trains & buses, it will be a little difficult. If you are travelling in South India, you can comfortably travel second-class sleeper coach (if you reserved it). The cost will be one-third or one-fourth of three-tier AC sleeper tickets. This is a surprise even for many north-indians, where reserved compartments of second class sleeper coaches were crammed with all types of people & luggage. Reservation doesn't have a respect in second class there. In contrast, the second class sleeper coaches in south india were as good as AC 3-tier coaches minus the air-conditioning. Ticket inspectors are prompt in allowing only reserved travellers & generally people will also comply. If you are travelling in night or in rainy - winter seasons, II class sleeper (Class SL in railways) is just as good. Besides you get airy windows
